What the site provides

This site provides estimated step counts, walking distances and related editorial content. Every figure is an estimate produced by the process set out on the methodology page. Estimates are provided for general information and are not represented as precise measurements.

Not a navigation service

The calculator computes an adjusted straight-line distance. It does not perform pedestrian routing, does not know whether a walkable path exists between two points, and does not account for water, terrain, closures or hazards. Do not use it for navigation. Use a proper mapping application for that.

Not medical advice

Content on this site about walking, step counts, energy expenditure and physical activity is general information drawn from published research. It is not medical advice, it is not tailored to your circumstances, and it should not be used to diagnose or treat any condition. Consult a qualified healthcare professional before beginning or changing an exercise programme, particularly if you have an existing health condition.

Your own safety

Route descriptions on this site describe walks in public places. Conditions change. You are responsible for assessing your own fitness, the current condition of a route, weather, daylight, local access rules and your personal safety before setting out.

You may not reproduce substantial portions, republish pages, or use the content to train commercial models without written permission.

Acceptable use

Do not attempt to disrupt the site, circumvent its technical measures, scrape it at volume, or use it in a way that places an unreasonable load on our infrastructure or on the third-party services it depends on.

Third-party services

The calculator depends on the Nominatim geocoding service. Availability and accuracy of that service are outside our control, and the calculator may be unavailable or return poor results if it is degraded.

This site is provided on an "as is" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or reliance on its estimates.
